Article 370: On 5th August Government decided to end the special status of  Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Due to which J&K also lost its state and was divided into two Union Territories.

You have seen some memes regarding Article 370 and also some fake news on article 370 on social media.

So, I am listing some of the truths about the removal of Article 370.


1. Has Article 370 really removed from the Indian Constitution?

Ans: Article 370 is not removed from the Constitution only the claws are used. Article 370 (1)(d) claws are used to remove the special status of Kashmir. So, technically Article 370 is present.

2. Did India get victory over Kashmir?

Ans: No, because Kashmir was always under India.

3. After removal of Article 370, Kashmir will have not have their own state flag? 

Ans:  Kashmir can have its own state flag because our Indian constitution never stops any state to wave their state flag. If any other state wants to wave its own state flag then they can also wave.

4. The government should ask Kashmiris before removal of 370?

Ans: According, to some supporters why should government ask Kashmiris before removal of Article 370 because when it was implemented then also Kashmiris were not asked.

But the real answer is that when we make union territory from a state then the state doesn't get vanished according to the constitution. But now the state has vanished and becomes union territory which is not constitutional.

5. GDP will increase in Kashmir by removal of article 370?

Ans: The surprising fact is that the poverty ratio of J&K is more than the total poverty ratio of India.

Also, the GDP of Kashmir is better than Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, etc.

6. People from outside Kashmir can buy land in Kashmir?

Ans: No that is not true because the government is planning to implement domicile status in Kashmir just like Himachal Pradesh. Domicile status means only the Kashmir Resident can buy land in Kashmir.
